Scholarship Contest

WeRHouston is proud to host a student scholarship contest promoting oral health awareness for eligible Aldine ISD.

Students are invited to submit an original essay and/or short video about how a healthy smile can impact confidence, school, family, and future success.

Selected winners will receive scholarship awards of $1,500, $1,000, and $500.

The WeRHouston Oral Health Awareness Scholarship Contest gives eligible Aldine ISD students a chance to share their ideas about oral health, confidence, school, and community wellness.

Students will submit an original essay and/or short video  based on the contest topic. Selected winners will receive scholarship awards sponsored by WeRHouston.

In support of students in our community, local dental offices including Bella Dental, A1 Dentist Houston, and My Dentist Houston have donated oral hygiene kits to be distributed to students as part of this initiative. Read More…

Join the Contest

How To

Participating is simple. Students write an original essay and/or create a short video   about: “Why a healthy smile matters?”, and a parent or guardian submits the entry online. Essays and/or short videos should share the student’s own ideas about oral health, confidence, school, family, or community wellness.

1. Write Your Essay or Create a Short Video
Choose the contest topic and write  in your own words. Tell us why oral health matters and how a healthy smile can make a difference in everyday life.

2. Follow the Requirements
Middle school students: 400 to 700 words essay
High school students: 600 to 1,000 words essay

Elementary school students: May upload an original painting related to topic of the contest instead of essay or video.

Or all Students may create a 30- to 120-second video about the contest topic and submit a share link from Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud, or YouTube.

3. Parent or Guardian Submits
A parent or guardian completes the online form, uploads the essay or short video, and confirms consent before submitting the entry.
